Our Story
The first known digital asset created in conjunction with a home improvement project originated when a homeowner was asked by his insurance company to provide a receipt from the contractor showing that his hail-damaged roof had been replaced in order to receive the final insurance payment. Our founder was consulting for a home services contractor looking to grow their restoration business and realized this disjointed and inefficient way insurance companies administered homeowner insurance claims.
The insurance industry is notoriously slow to change, but homeowners have likely noticed how quickly these same insurers can increase premiums, reduce coverage levels, raise deductibles, and even just flat out cancel policies, making homeownership much more expensive and difficult.
This insurance industry inefficiency and expense problem led to the creation of the BLOCKDRIVE. With the BLOCKDRIVE, homeowners now have a clever and monetizable method to link their home improvement and repair data to the blockchain through our linked address method. We have taken it to the next level for maximum homeowner value, incorporating project photos, warranty data for appliances and materials, and other data, like simply storing paint colors.
